Olympic Toddler Preschool is a fun, safe, and stimulating environment for your child to learn, grow and gain self confidence. You will both have a great opportunity to make new friends and as a parent you will find support for the everyday challenges that toddlers provide.
Our class meets Monday mornings, from 9:30 to 11:30, in room 1405 of the Instructional Building, on the North Seattle Community College campus.
We start our mornings playing outside in the fenced playground or on the covered patio with structures, fun toys and a sandbox. We follow the gross motor activity with circle time where we greet our friends, sing songs, listen to stories, dance and play with musical instruments. Then it is time for a healthy snack followed by free play! During this time, children choose from a variety of activities, including puzzles, arts and crafts, sensory table, playhouse, reading and playing with a wide variety of age appropriate toys. We close the day with our goodbye song and a hand stamp on our way out the door.
Erika Olsen graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood. She has taught for the Lake Washington School District for five years in the Ready Start Preschool Program.
Last year she and her daughter Isabella were in the Olympic Toddler's co-op class. This was her first introduction to the co-op system. She had the best time in class with her daughter as she saw her grow much throughout the year. She found it very helpful and fun to get together with other moms in co-op and still see moms from the last year's co-op as she and her daughter have moved to the Latona Pre 3's class.
