Each week children are offered activities that are developmentally appropriate and fun. We work with art materials, sensory materials, books, puzzles, blocks and dolls. The children are also learning about how to deal with other children and to trust other adults.
The emphasis is on social skills.
Our Teacher, Suzanne Sumi is well known in early childhood circles. She has taught preschool for twenty-three years. Prior to that she taught swimming for nine years and private preschool for two years. She is married with two 2 sons.
Suzanne is passionate about early childhood theory and practice, and has developed relationships with highly regarded national educators such as Bev Bos and Tom Hunter. Suzanne’s philosophy draws from current psychological research, as well as Montessori, Reggio Emmilia, Waldorf, and other educational paradigms. She excitedly supports child-led learning. She believes her job as a teacher is to love children and to help them become competent social beings.
Toddler class is a great time for new parents to meet and form lasting relationships with their child, other children and other parents.
