She is currently also on faculty at the Washington School of Dance and she teaches in the Seattle community for preschools and public schools. As a Contemporary artist, DeLashmette seeks to create gripping and relevant work for audiences that provoke internal dialogue and inquiry for the viewer.

As a dance educator, her teaching philosophy encompasses a holistic approach that develops each student into a complete artist as a skilled technician, critical thinker, collaborator, and creator. She believes in offering a full body, spirit, and mind experience, which involves being engaged in the creative process, sharing, seeing, and responding. She believes in creating a supportive community and a safe learning space for dance. Her goals as an educator for each of her students are to increase their physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being as well as to facilitate creative play, inspire and build confidence. She is passionate about Brain-Compatible Dance Education, the BrainDance, and Anne Green Gilbert's curriculum for dance education.
