2014 Donato Award Celebration

Remembering Cesily Crowser, June 9, 1:30-2:30pm at North Seattle College

The North Seattle Parent Education Program welcomes the Parent Education and College Community to join us for the Donato Award Celebration on Monday, June 9, 1:30-2:30pm in the College Center Building, room CC 1161, at the SW corner of the college. Please contact Betty Williams, Parent Education Program Coordinator, if you need guest parking for this event.

The Donato Award is an award given out annually to Parent Education Instructors in the North Seattle Program to recognize excellence in parenting education, and it is named for Val Donato, who worked as a parent education instructor and program coordinator for over 30 years.

On June 9, two awards will be given out, one to Cesily Crowser in memoriam, with the $500 award going to her children’s fund; and another to one of the instructors nominated by the program students and/or colleagues for recognition of excellence in the field.

We are collecting photos, memories and appreciations of Cesily Crowser to create a memory book to give her family on June 9. These are due by Friday, May 30. Please send yours to:

Register Online for Parent Ed Classes

Parent Education Students are expected to register online. The Parent Ed Program operates on the Seattle Public School schedule rather than the NSCC Quarterly Schedule. Talk with your Parent Education Instructor to find out more about the process and registration deadlines, or see the Troubleshooting Guide.

How to Join a Co-op:

  1. Find out how co-ops work.
  2. Decide which schools might be right for your family.
  3. Understand the enrollment process
  4. Contact the parent co-ordinator to take the next step.

NSCC's Co-operative Preschools:

provide parent and early education for families with children from infancy to Pre-K.

Schools are located in North Seattle and differ from traditional preschools in that they are run by parents who work in association with the class teacher and the North Seattle Community College program.

The preschools are very popular and provide a community of support for children and their families.

If there is any information you need that you cannot find on the website please contact Betty Williams the program co-ordinator.
